Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve plate thickness precision, quality and rolling efficiency by varying a sampling number of revotions of tension wave form so as to suppress tension varia fluatuation at reel coiling start. SOLUTION: A tension correcting device 40 obtains an average tension wave form at every prescribed number of revolutions by sampling the tension wave form inputted from a tension meter 30 corresponding to a rotating angle of a reel 22 detected with a reel rotating angle detector 32. By correcting a command value given to a motor controller 28 as taking the tension wave form for a control gain, the tension fluctuation synchronized to rotation of the reel 22 is suppressed. A number of reel revolutions (sampling number of revolutions) to obtain an average of tension deviation is gradually increased by one revolution in accordance with a prescribed pattern from coiling start of a stock to be rolled to a coiler up to reaching to a prescribed number of coiling and is gradually decreased by one revolution in accordance with a prescribed pattern while decoiling of a stock to be rolled from a decoiler is executed from a prescribed coiled number up to completion of decoiling.
