Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a tool holder attachment to/detachment from a machine tool to be carried out strongly, easily and surely in the case of furnishing a tool such as an end mill to a machine tool in a machining center, etc., by using the tool holder. SOLUTION: A taper sleeve 3 is fitted to the shank part 4 of a tool holder and inside groove 3a is provided on the inner surface of this sleeve 3. When this tool holder is fitted to the spindle of a machine tool, particularly large circumferential compression takes place at a park corresponding to the inside groove 3a of the sleeve 3 and the entire sleeve 3 reduces its diameter so as to enhance rigidity of connection to the shank part 4. This inside groove 3a is so different from a slotting as making no opening on a sleeve external peripheral surface, insufficient diameter reduction of the sleeve 3 may not be caused by dust choking. Therefore, holder attachment to the spindle of a machine tool can be achieved certainly.
