Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a fixing operation by both input voltages 100V/200V without specially changing a switching power source and to attain the universality, by installing contacts on the way of an exciting coil and changing the number of turns. SOLUTION: As for the exciting coil, a lead wire 34 is wound around a core material 30 constituted of ferromagnetic material such as ferrite and the power is supplied to the coil by a power source having a frequency-variable oscillation circuit from the longitudinal end part. A U-shaped material is used as the core material 30 for the exciting coil in order to form a closed magnetic circuit. As for the contacts 31 to 33 of the exciting coil, the contact 32 installed at the start of winding is used for 100V/200V in common, the contact 31 installed at the central part of the coil is used for 100V and the contact 33 at the terminal of the coil is used for 200V. By providing the contacts on the way of the exciting coil and changing the number of turns in such a way, the inductance of the coil is switched in accordance with the inputted voltage, or the number of running frequencies, then, the universality of the switching power source and the fixing device can be attained in 100V/200V systems.
