Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent detection precision in wide temperature range, relating to a non-contact type potentiometer which uses a magnetic reluctance element. SOLUTION: A magnetism-sensing part 1 wherein a pair of magnetic reluctance elements 11 and 12 for detection, wherein reluctance value changes according to the intense of magnetic field, are connected in series, a permanent magnet 2 for detection which applies them with magnetic field, the first compensating magnetic reluctance elements 31 and 32 connected in series to the magnetism- sensing part 1, the second compensating magnetic reluctance element 33 connected in parallel to the magnetism-sensing part 1, and a compensating permanent magnet 34 which applies the magnetic reluctance elements 31 and 32 with magnetic field, are provided. The fluctuation of division voltage at a connection intermediate point of the magnetic reluctance elements 11 and 12 when there reluctance values change in the tendency specific to magnetic reluctance elements due to the fluctuation in atmosphere temperature, and the fluctuation in voltage drop of the magnetic reluctance elements 31 and 32 which changes in the tendency specific to the magnetic reluctance elements are offset each other.
