Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt-decomposition apparatus for plastic waste capable of continuously disposing plastic wastes without causing coking. SOLUTION: This melt-decomposition apparatus 1 is provided with a pair of horizontal cylinders 20a, 20b arranged parallel to each other. The outer surfaces of the cylinders 20a, 20b are heated to the melt-decomposition temperature of a plastic material 2 by a thermal medium 4 supplied from a thermal medium heating apparatus to the hollow parts 21 of the cylinders 20a, 20b. The cylinders 20a, 20b are rotated by driving means 24-28 during the above process. A plastic material 2 charged on the cylinders 20a, 20b from a charging port 11 is heated in contact with the cylinders 20a, 20b and successively melted and decomposed without causing coking phenomenon. The residue 3 of the plastic material 2 is discharged from a discharging port 12.
