Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent bringing of a pallet/load likely to cause fires into a warehouse, to quickly detect the occurrence of fires in a rack shelf by a relatively simple and inexpensive device and to quickly perform a sure fire extinguishing operation by a relatively simple and inexpensive device. SOLUTION: A fire cause detecting sensor 11 for detecting an abnormal load is provided in the position of the entering/leaving conveyor 7 of a automatic high-rise warehouse having a rack shelf 2 and a stacker crane 3 so as to prohibit entering of abnormal loads, fire detecting sensors 20 are provided in the mast 6 and vertical moving parts 4 and 5 of the stacker crane 3 and the occurrence of fires is checked for each stage of the rack shelf. If a fire occurs, the fire is extinguished by extinguishing facilities, non-person fire extinguishing robots 31 or extinguishing zones 40 provided in the mast 6 and the vertical moving parts 4 and 5 of the stacker crane 3.
