Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attempt the quality and amt. of a desired microorganism without affecting the growth of a granule by denitrifying the water treated in an anaerobic tank in a denitrification tank, nitrating the denitrified water in an aerobic tank, circulating the nitrated water to the denitrification tank and denitrifying the water. SOLUTION: Sewage is passed upward through a sludge bed in an anaerobic tank 1 and anaerobically treated, a denitrification tank 2 is provided above the anaerobic tank 1, and the water treated in the anaerobic tank 1 is denitrified. The org. matter remaining in the water treated in the denitrification tank 2 is decomposed, and the org. or ammoniacal nitrogen is nitrated into nitrite or nitrate nitrogen in an aerobic tank 5. The nitrated water is further circulated to the denitrification tank 2 and denitrified. Consequently, the quality and amt. of the desired microorganism are attained. |
