Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt-type fixing device by which a superposed toner image is surely fixed on a sheet. SOLUTION: This device is provided with plural heating bodies 80 and 82 extending in a direction crossing at a right angle with a belt moving direction and arranged at a specified interval in the belt moving direction in the vicinity of a contact part between a fixing belt 58 and a pressure roller 70, and plural switches 84 and 86 switching each heating body to a heating condition and a non-heating condition, and a controller 92 operating the respective switches in accordance with the number of the toner image. The interval of the plural heating bodies is set to a distance by which the temperature of the heated belt 58 is kept without falling.
