Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any damage to a wall thickness part between relief parts for piston interference prevention as a result of the top of a bearing box being brought into direct contact with the hot section of a cylinder, and reduce noise and vibration caused by pressure fluctuation with the vertical motion of the piston in the structure of an engine whose pitch between cylinder bores is de creased. SOLUTION: A two-split type bearing box 11 is mounted inside a supporting hole 22 in a bearing wall 21 formed in a crank case 2, and the intermediate journal 8a of a crank shaft 8 is pivoted by bearing holes 12 which are in the center of the bearing box 11. In the bearing box 11, an upper box 11a and a lower box 11b are connected and fixed with a pair of connecting bolts 14, 14. The part between relief parts for piston interference prevention at the top of the upper box 11a is communicated with each other through a cut-out part 30.
