Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the waterproofness and chemical resistance of a texture part by adding a specific fluoran derivative and a specific phenol compound as a developer to a thermal recording layer on a support together with borates having a sensitization action and a texture coloring preventive action. SOLUTION: A thermal recording medium comprising a thermal color developing laser coupler layer which can be easily formed into an arbitrarily selected pattern by a printing method and marked using a laser beam with a high mark preservability contains a fluoran derivative as a basic leuco dye as shown by formula I for enhancing the waterproofness and chemical resistance of a recorded image, a phenol compound as a developer as shown by formula II and borates as a multifunctional additive. In the formula, R1 is a methyl group or an ethyl group; R is a methyl group, a phenyl group, a naphthyl group; and (n) is an integer of 0 or 1. The phenol compound shown in the formula II is such as 4-hydroxyphenylmethyl sulfon. |
