Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuits scale of a controller for controlling a storage device and to prevent malfunction from being caused by noise and the like. SOLUTION: A sequencer 17 is served as a sequencer for controlling reading from a servo sector and also as a sequencer for controlling reading from a data sector. Instruction and the like required for controlling processing the servo sector and the processing the data sector are stored in a storing means 18. A control logic 21 issues operation instruction to respective parts by using this instruction. Further, a selecting bit 25 showing whether the instruction is for the servo sector or for the data sector is provided. The control logic 21 can discriminate whether an object of the instruction is the servo sector or the data sector by discriminating a selected bit 25.
