Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively determine carbon in an analyzing sample with a high sensitivity under various environments. SOLUTION: This device is formed of a pulse generator 1, a means for emitting laser beams to an analyzing sample, a means for injecting an inert gas to the analyzing sample, a second condenser lens 9, and a multichannel analyzer 12 and computer 13 for analyzing the signal inputted to a spectrometer. The means for emitting laser beams is formed of a laser 2 for generating laser beams, a prism 6, and a first condenser lens. The means for injecting an inert gas is formed of a pulse driver 3 and a pulse nozzle 5 for injecting the inert gas for a fixed time, and the pulse generator outputs TTL signal to the laser 2 and also outputs TTL signal to the pulse driver 3 for controlling the pulse nozzle.
