Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain alumina cement material securing unconventionally high resistance to fire, high fluidity and long pot life, and to obtain alumina cement and monolithic refractory with no problem in terms of curability and mechanical strength developability by using this material. SOLUTION: This alumina cement material has the following mineral composition: 20-80wt.% of CaO.Al2 O3 , 5-50wt.% of CaO.2Al2 O3 and 60-5wt.% of 2CaO. Al2 O3 .SiO2 and the following chemical composition: 10-30wt.% of CaO, 60-90wt.% of Al2 O3 and 0.6-10wt.% of SiO2 and/or a total of <=5wt.% of impurities composed of TiO2 , Fe2 O3 and MgO. The second objective alumina cement comprises the above alumina cement material and α-Al2 O3 .
