Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polypeptide capable of binding to the vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF) to inhibit its activity and inhibit vascularization caused by the stimulation action of the VEGF, and capable of being thereby utilized for the treatments of diseases accompanied by the vascularization, such as solid cancers. SOLUTION: This VEGF-binding polypeptide is a new polypeptide capable of binding to the VEGF to inhibit the activity of the VEGF, containing the first immunoglobulin-like domain and the second lmmunoglobulin-like domain in the extracellular region of the VEGF receptor FLT, and not containing the sixth lmmunoglobulin-like domain and the seventh immunoglobulin-like domain. The polypeptide is useful as a VEGF-inhibiting agent capable of inhibiting vascularization caused by the stimulation action of the VEGF and capable of being utilized for the treatments of diseases accompanied by the vascularization, such as solid cancers, etc. |
