Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a non-asbestos friction material capable of preventing the creaking phenomenon of a brake especially in a washing machine without deteriorating the frictional coefficient, strength and wear resistance of the brake. SOLUTION: The characteristic of composition of this non-asbestos friction material comprises base material fibers, fluororesin powder, a thermosetting resin, a rubbery material, a rubber chemical agent and a filler. A portions of 1-100wt.% of the base material fibers is aramide fibers, and the base material fibers and the fluororesin powder are contained in amounts of 1-40wt.% and 1-20wt.%, respectively, in the non-asbestos friction material. The base material fibers and the fluororesin are desirably contained in a weight ratio (base material fibers/fluororesin powder) of (1-40)/(1-20). |
