Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the pressure tightness by respectively forming small- diameter parts having the same diameter and the same length on the bottom side ends of two bottomed cylindrical tank structural members, and welding opening side ends of both tank structural members by means of joggled lap joints into a single tank chamber. SOLUTION: In an air tank 1, the diameters and the wall thicknesses the aluminum-made, bottomed, and cylindrical left tank structural member 2 in which its right end is opened and its left end is closed and an aluminum-made, bottomed, and cylindrical right tank structural member 3 in which its left end is opened and its right end is closed are equalized to each other, and the length of the left tank structural member 2 is made longer than that of the right tank structural member 3. Small-diameter parts 5, 6 having the same diameter and the same length are formed on the bottom side ends of both tank structural members 2, 3, and the opening side ends of both tank structural members 2, 3 are welded to each other by joggled lap joints into a single tank chamber 4. Therefore, pressure tightness of the welding parts of both tank structural members 2, 3 can be improved.
