Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer roller withstanding wear for thick recording paper. SOLUTION: In this device, a latent image formed on a recording medium is developed with toner, and then the recording paper 50 on which a toner image has been transferred is peeled from the recording medium and fed while the toner image is transferred on the recording paper 50. In such a case, the device is equipped with the transfer roller 5 provided to press the recording paper 50 to the recording medium, and a peeling belt 12 introduced into a nip together with the recording paper 50, holding one side edge part of the recording paper 50 with the transfer roller 5, and peeling the recording paper 50 from the recording medium when it is fed out from the nip together with the recording paper 50. The transfer roller 5 has a 1st area 5a equipped with a coating layer formed of dielectric material on its outer peripheral surface and a 2nd area 5b equipped with a coating layer formed of material having higher wear resistance than the dielectric material in the area of the outer peripheral surface coming in contact with the peeling belt.
