Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the workability of connection work, etc., and the maintainability by connecting a resistor having a plurality of taps through a rectifier circuit provided on the secondary, connecting a semiconductor switch with each tap, and turning the semiconductor switches on/off depending on the operating conditions. SOLUTION: A resistor 111 is connected through a three-phase full-wave rectification circuit 100 comprising three pairs of rectifier elements 101-106 connected with an wound-rotor type motor on the secondary and semiconductor switches GTOs 121-125 are connected, respectively, with taps ta1-ta5 provided at the intermediate points of resistor 111. The GTO 121-125 is applied, to the gate, with a control signal from a controller depending on various operating conditions of the wound-rotor type motor 10 in order to control the secondary resistor. This controller enhance the workability of connection work at the resistance switching section on the secondary and the maintainability.
