Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the existence of seed on the basis of the weight of fruit as an object and the measured value of a nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) signal by a method wherein the weight of only the flesh of a fruit and the NMR signal are measured, their relationship is collected and the reference to judge the existence of seed is set. SOLUTION: A hopper 1 for dried-plum charging measures the weight of dried plums 7 while the plums are placed on a metering device 2 at a constant time interval, and the plums are placed on a belt conveyor 8. An NMR-signal measuring part 4 measures the magnitude of the NMR signal of the plum 7. At this time, the weight of the plum 7 regarding only its flesh and the NMR signal are measured in advance, their relationship is collated, and a reference to execute a comparison and a judgment on the basis of the relationship is set as a threshold value. A comparison and judgment part 5, to which weight data from the metering device 2 and the NMR signal from the measuring part 4 are input, judges the existence of a seed in the plum 7 by using the threshold value. Its judged result is output to a sorting part 6.
