Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the above new compound having high fungicidal power and broad fungicidal spectrum and useful especially as agrochemicals. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by the formula I (X is a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic group containing one or more hetero atoms selected from N, O and S; R is a 1-4C alkyl), e.g. (S)-4-(2-propyl)-3-(2- thiophenecarbonyl)thiazolidine-2-thione. The compound of the formula I can be produced by reacting an acid halide of the formula II with a thiazolidinethione compound of the formula III in the presence of a base (e.g. triethylamine) in a solvent (e.g. dichloromethane) at -20 to +100 deg.C. The compound exhibits excellent controlling effect on blast, helminthosporium leaf spot and sheath blight of rice, powdery mildew, scab, rust, snow blight, spot blotch, flag smut, speckled leaf blotch and glume blotch of wheat, melanose and scab of citrus fruit, powdery mildew and alternaria leaf spot of apple, scab of pear, powdery mildew of grape, brown spot of eggplant, rust of welsh onion, purple speck of soybean, etc. |
