Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy load pneumatic tire having excellent wearing resistance. SOLUTION: A belt layer 7 composed of a plurality of belt plies arranged in the outer side of a carcass in its the radial direction and the inner part of a tread part is provided with a first belt ply 7A in the innermost side of the tire in its diameter direction and second and third belt plies 7B and 7C superposed in sequence in the outer side of the radial direction. The belt ply 7A is arranged in a manner that a low expansion cord 10 having expansion of 1 to 3% during breaking is inclined by an angle of over 40 deg. to lower than 70 deg. against a tire equator C. Further, the belt plies 7B and 7C are arranged in a manner that high expansion cords 11 each having expansion of 4 to 10% during breaking are inclined by angles of θ2 and θ3 of over 10 deg. to lower than 20 deg. equal to each other against the tire equator C and by superposing the high expansion cords 11 in a direction for intersecting each other for these second and third belt plies 7B and 7C, the low expansion cord 10 and the high expansion cords 11 are caused to intersect one another in a triangular form.
