Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the unnecessary consumption of a memory for storing received character information and to retrieve only important character information by storing character information including a retrieved keyword. SOLUTION: A broadcasted character code is received by a receiving part 1. A judging part 2 judges the intensity of a radio wave in receiving the character code, based upon a receiving state signal sequentially outputted from the receiving part 1 in accordance with the level of a received wave. When the wave intensity is high, the character code 15 stored in a RAM of a storage part 3 as a normally received character code. Then a retrieving part 6 judges whether a storage keyword in the storing part 5 is included in the stored character string or not, and when included, stores the character information in a storing part 7 as information required by a user. Then the user retrieves character information to be referred out of the character information stored in the storing part 7.
