Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain reactive silica particles for stably forming coating film satisfying performances in ranges from transparency to translucency and from high gloss to matte, excellent in scratch resistance, weather resistance, adhesiveness and curing property. SOLUTION: The reactive silica particles comprise silica particles and an organic compound chemically bonded to the silica particles and the organic compound has a polymerizable unsaturated group, a group represented by formula I and a group represented by formula II (X is selected from among NH, O and S and Y is selected from oxygen atom and sulfur atom, with the proviso that when X is O, Y is sulfur atom) and in the reactive silica particles, the silica particles are bonded through a silyloxy group to the organic compound.
