Summary:PURPOSE: To ensure sufficient mechanical strength against centrifugal force by forming a member for relaxing concentration of stress at the U-shaped part of a U-shaped fastening bolt and making a groove in the outer circumferential side insulation block abutting against the stress relaxing member thereby preventing concentration of stress to the outer circumferential side insulation block and making uniform the pressure on the contacting surface. CONSTITUTION: A roll member 18 for relaxing concentration of stress, formed by pasting glass fibers or synthetic fibers and a rubber, is fitted to the U-shaped part of a U-shaped fastening bolt 15 for fastening the end part of a stator winding 11 to a stay 13 along with an insulation block 17. A groove for receiving the stress relaxing member 18 is made in the outer circumferential side insulation block 17a between an upper winding 11a and the U-shaped bolt 15. Compressive stress generated through centrifugal force during operation and acting on the U-shaped volt is transmitted through the stress relaxing member 18 to the entire surface of the groove made in the outer circumferential side insulation block 17a thus ensuring sufficient mechanical strength against the centrifugal force acting at the end part of the rotor winding 11.
