Summary:PURPOSE: To provide the sales processing method which enables payment processing for the charge for use by a card without trouble although a premium is put on the card when an article whose sales price is restricted by a law is purchased. CONSTITUTION: For adjustment processing for an article which can be sold with a premium, the contents of a 2nd data area 3b of the prepaid card 2 are updated into the contents obtained by subtracting the charge for use preferentially to the contents of a 1st data area 3a and if the contents of the 2nd data area 3b are deficient, an adjustment is made by subtraction from the 1st data area 3a. For adjustment processing for an article which can not be sold with a premium, the contents of the 1st data area 3a of the prepaid card are updated into the contents obtained by subtracting the charge for use and the contents of the 2nd data area 3b are not used for the adjustment.
