Summary:PURPOSE: To use a common data control part for memory parts which have plural kinds of memory element bit width by using a stand-by memory instead of a faulty memory element of a normal memory if the memory element becomes faulty. CONSTITUTION: An alternate data switching multi-circuit 11 for writing inputs a switching position signal at the time of writing and write data, and outputs spare write data. An alternate data position converting circuit 12 for writing inputs the spare write data and a memory element bit width signal and outputs the memory spare write data to the stand-by memory 15. An alternate data position converting circuit 9 for reading inputs memory spare read data read out of the stand-by memory 15 and the memory element bit width signal and outputs the spare read data. An alternate data switching multi-circuit 6' for reading inputs read data from the normal memory 4 and a switching position signal at the time of reading and outputs read data after an error due to a fault is corrected.
