Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in manufacturing a segment for covering work consisting of an arched box steel shell filled with concrete. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing a segment for covering work consisting of an arched box steel shell formed of a pair of main beams 16, a pair of joint plates 18 and a skin plate 20, which is charged with a concrete 12, a steel shell which lacks one main beam or one joint plate is formed. After or before the steel shell is arranged with the other main beam of the steel shell or the other joint plate faced downward, an open face opposed to the skin plate of the steel shell is closed by a formwork 44, in which the concrete is poured from an open top end 42 of the steel shell. After the concrete is cured, the formwork is taken out after or before one of the main beams or one of the joint plates is attached to the steel shell.
