Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorized preparation suppressing volatility, irritation and lacrimatory properties before scattering to soil, rapidly releasing chloropicrin to soil after scattering, having a low-cost and simple manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:This deodorized preparation is obtained by mixing a water-soluble organic substance with a biodegradable organic substance and/or fertilizer (e.g. urea or ammonium sulfate) and chloropicrin, sealing and wrapping the formed mixture in a water-soluble and/or biodegradable film having preferably <=10cc/atm/m /24 hours oxygen permeability (e.g. PVA film or pullulan film). A saccharide, an amino acid or its derivative, a polylactic acid, and a polyvinyl alcohol, especially a polysaccharide having high chloropicrin absorption ability are preferable as the water-soluble organic substance and/or the biodegradable organic substance. A maize starch, a soluble starch or a starch decomposition product having a linked structure of alpha-glucose in a straight-chain state may be cited too. The content of chloropicrin is 2-10g, especially 5g.
