Summary: | PURPOSE:To collect slag on molten steel to near a furnace opening hole and to remove the slag at high efficiency by tilting a converter, blowing gas over the comparatively wide range of its far inner part to rise the molten steel surface in the molten steel, when charging the molten steel to chromate- containing slag after tapping non-reduced chromium-containing steel to reduce the slag and discharge it. CONSTITUTION:An immersion nozzle 15 is inserted into the far inner part from the furnace opening hole 17 of the tilted converter 16 through arms 13, 14 with a self-traveling carriage 12. Successively, the immersion nozzle 15 is descended and deeply dipped into the molten steel 18 to blow out an inert gas G such as gaseous nitrogen, etc., of a prescribed quantity. By this method, float-up and expanding energy of the gas G is converted into positional energy of the molten steel 18 and the raised-up surface 18a of the molten steel 18 becomes higher than the surface of the chromate-containing slag 19. Accordingly, the slag 19 on the molten steel 18 is pushed and collected to near the furnace hole 17 of the converter 16, thus the slag can efficiently be removed. |
