Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a creamy and soft foamy hair cosmetic, excellent in foaming properties by using dimethoxymethane as a solvent for an aerosol spray or a nonaerosol pump spray containing water added thereto and filling a composition containing the dimethoxymethane in a container. CONSTITUTION:This nonaerosol type foamy hair cosmetic is obtained by using dimethoxymethane as a solvent used for the purpose of suppressing the viscosity, finely dividing the mist diameter and improving the drying properties and filling the composition containing the dimethoxymethane in a foam discharging container. The resultant hair cosmetic is creamy, soft and excellent in foaming properties and has fine texture of foams. The amount of the dimethoxymethane contained in the cosmetic is preferably 0.5-30wt.%. The dimethoxymethane represented by CH3OCH2OCH3 has no toxicity and can readily be mixed in water or an ethanol solution. An oil (propylene glycol, glycerol, etc., are especially preferred), a polymer (a cellulosic derivative, etc., are especially preferred), etc., are suitably blended in the cosmetic.
