Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an open forging method by which a product having a cupped part and flange parts surrounded to this part can be formed in a good yield. CONSTITUTION:After setting a preforming material between an upper die constituted with outer upper dies and inner upper die and an integrally constituted lower die, firstly, the outer upper dies are descended preceeding to the inner upper die to mate the outer upper dies with the lower die. Successively, the preforming material is pressed by descending the inner upper die, and the cupped part is formed with gaps between the outer upper dies and the inner upper die, and the flange parts are formed with gaps between the outer upper dies and the lower die, and the product having the cupped part and the flange parts surrounded to this part is open-forged.
