PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain the subject composition capable of diminishing the wear of metal contact surface, excellent in compatibility, thermal stability, electrical insulation and low hygroscopicity, generating no carboxylic acid due to its hydrolysis, comprising a specific base oil, a phosphorus compound and a hydrofluorocarbon. CONSTITUTION: This hydraulic fluid composition comprises (A) a lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil A1 mainly consisting of a cyclic ketal or cyclic acetal and a phosphorus compound A2 , i.e., a compound of formula I [X1 -X3 are each a 2-4C (branched) alkylene; X4 -X6 are each a l-l8C (halogenated) straight-chain alkyl, 3-18C branched alkyl, 2-l8C straight-chain alkenyl, 3-l8C branched alkenyl, 6-l8C (halo)aryl or 7-18C aralkyl; (p), (q) and (r) are each 0-30[ or formula II (X and X are each same as X ; X -X are each same as X ; (s) and (t) are each same as (p)) and (B) a hydrofluorocarbon.
