PURPOSE: To enable the disk cartridge housing a disk capable of recording on both sides to be inserted into and ejected from a cartridge holder. CONSTITUTION: A 1st engagement part 8A and a 2nd engagement part 8B are formed on both sides of a front end of the disk cartridge 1 housing the disk 5 respectively, and a shutter 2 for covering an opening 6 for access has an operating piece 7 extended to a position adjacent to the 1st engagement part 8A. The cartridge holder 4 is formed with cam slits 11 and 12 symmetrically in a V-shape on both sides right and left, into which pins 13 and 14 are fitted, and are energized by arms 15 and 16, etc., to the side of an inserting hole. When the disk cartridge 1 is inserted, the shutter 2 is opened by guiding the pin 13 to the side of an opening and closing slit part 11a extending slantwise on an inclined surface on the side of the 1st engagement part 8A via the operating piece 7, while the pin 14 is held on an inclined surface on the side of the 2nd engagement part 8B, and is guided to the side of a vertical slit part 12b.
