Summary:PURPOSE: To increase inner capacity of a surge tank without increasing size of an intake device. CONSTITUTION: A surge tank 3 is arranged on a side portion of an internal combustion engine l and its upper portion on one end side of longitudinal direction. A throttle body is installed on one side surface 3a of bilateral side surfaces of the surge tank. Long intake pipes 4, 5, 6 from cylinders are bent and connected to the other side surface 3b. In such an intake device 2, the surge tank 3 has a box shape lengthy in a longitudinal direction. Its lower portion is projected downward compared to connection parts 11, 12, 13 of intake passages to the surge tank.
