PURPOSE:To provide the common buffer type switch by providing a data conversion switch group connecting an arbitrary input port and an arbitrary memory and a data exchange switch group connecting an arbitrary memory and an arbitrary output port to the switch. CONSTITUTION:When data received from input ports 1, 2 are stored in a buffer, a switch group is closed to deliver the data to point buffer group 3. When not stored, the switch group is open to deliver the data to an output port selection switch group 2. When the switch is closed, the point of the closed switch is decided depending on the position of the stored buffer. The cross point buffer group 3 writes data by closing the switch having a buffer storing the data and reads the data and delivered to a data selection switch group 4 at a proper time. The data delivered to an output port selection switch group 2 when the buffer selection switch group 1 is open are led to an output port path by closing the switch connecting to the output port to be outputted. The data selection switch group 4 selects the data and outputs the data onto the output port.
