PURPOSE: To provide a speed change operation device for travel which can travel while accurately restricting the highest travel speed to speed adapted to a kind of work and a condition of a machine body. CONSTITUTION: When a switching operation tool 19a of a control form setting unit 19 is operated in a switching system to an operation position according to a kind of work and a condition of a machine body, the setting unit 19 sets a different control form in a switching system, and a speed change program setting means 20 sets a speed change program corresponding to a control form set by the control form setting unit 19. A speed change target setting means 21 sets speed change target speed on the basis of the speed change program set by the speed change program setting means 20 and information from a speed change sensor 13 to detect an operation position of a speed change lever 11. A speed change control means 22 operates a continuously variable transmission for travel so that speed is changed in a speed condition corresponding to an operation position of the speed change lever 11 by automatically operating a motor-driven cylinder 14 on the basis of this preset speed change target speed and information from a second potentiometer 15 to detect a speed condition of the continuously variable transmission for travel.
