Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an oscillator in which the oscillating frequency is adjusted without losing advantages of a conventional oscillator by providing a piezoelectric vibrator contained and sealed in a 2nd container section provided on a bottom of a 1st container section and an oscillation circuit contained in the 1st container section. CONSTITUTION: A case 1 is a case for the oscillator and has a conductor pattern connecting electrically a crystal vibrator chip 3 and an IC 7 and also has a terminal at which a resonance frequency is externally measured after the element chip 3 is fixed to the case 1 and the terminal is sealed by a cap 5. The case 1 is provided with a 1st container section 1a, 2nd containers 1b, 1c provided on the bottom of the container la and recessed parts 1d, 1e containing the IC chip 7. A recessed part 1c is provided on a bottom of the container 1b to hold the element chip 3. The cap 5 is a cover to seal the element chip 3. After the element chip 3 is fixed to the case 1, the cap 5 is arranged at a prescribed position and left in an environment of nearly 400 deg.C to melt a low melting point glass to bond the case 1 and the cap 5 thereby sealing the surrounding of the element 3 and obtaining a crystal osicillator.
