Summary:PURPOSE: To make it possible to completely eliminate the adverse influence on an electrophotographic process unit from a heat fixing device while reducing the size of the device by providing the low-temp. side part of a heat shielding wall with an air flow passage and cooling the low-temp. side part of the heat shielding wall within the air flow passage. CONSTITUTION: The heat shielding wall 30 is formed of a member having high thermal conductivity and the low-temp. side part 31 of the heat shielding wall 30 is provided with the air passage 35 capable of supplying air in a device body case 1 and is provided with an air flow means 41 for cooling the low-temp. side part 31 of the heat shielding wall 30 by passing the air in the air passage 35. As a result, the heat shielding wall 30 receives the heat from the heat fixing device 20 but has the high thermal conductivity and its low-temp. side part 31 is cooled by the air passed through the inside of the air passage 35 and, therefore, the temp. gradient is large and the temp. rise is suppressed. Then, the miniaturization is attained by disposing the electrophotographic process unit 10 and the heat fixing device 20 in proximity and the adverse influence on the electrophotographic process unit 10 is completely eliminated.
