Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a plunger type pump having wide operation range for stably carrying a large amount of liquid without being enlarged in its entire size. CONSTITUTION: A plunger type pump for carrying liquid by moving the tip of a plunger 4 back and forth in a pump head 3 is provided with a cam body 60 connected to the plunger 4 and a motor 7 for rotating the cam body 60. The cam body 60 has a cam groove 61 having peripheral shape formed around an axis in parallel with the back and forth movement direction of the plunger 4 and this cam groove 61 with a fixed width is displaced by a specified distance in an axial direction. The back and forth movement of the plunger 4 follows the rotation of the cam body 60 and by means of this rotational force, the plunger 4 is moved back and forth.
