Summary:PURPOSE: To solve the problem that in an image forming device integrating an image forming means using an electrophotographic system and an ink jet system as an image forming system, the one using the ink jet system is not longer than the other in service life, and shortens the life as a whole. CONSTITUTION: Units A and B are comprised of the detachable image-forming means I of the electrophotographic system and the detachable image-forming means II of the ink jet system, respectively. A fixing device 15 as the final process means of the image forming means I and the entrance of the image forming means II are connected by means of carrying rollers 16-19 and 22 and carrying paths 20 and 21. The life of the image forming means II is shorter compared to that of the means I, therefore, by replacing the unit B, the image forming device is allowed to use until the unit A reaches its life.
