PURPOSE: To provide the excellent production efficiency and manufacturing cost aspect by compression molding softened timber to force it in a fixed mold, incorporating a large quantity at once in a high-temperature and high-pressure vessel, and fixing it with high-temperature and high-pressure steam. CONSTITUTION: The method for press molding a timber comprises the steps of continuously supplying the timbers 1 softened by heating one by one to the supply position between an inputting unit 2 and a compression molding machine 5, forcing the timbers 1 by a pusher 4 fixed to the end of the piston rod 3a of a forcing cylinder 3 to continuously introduce the timbers 1 to the machine 5, and gradually compression molding them from the ends to predetermined height and width. The timber is continuously cooled by the cooling conveyor 12 and cooling guide of a molding temporarily fixing unit 11, and the compression molding is temporarily fixed. The temporarily fixed timber 1 is forced to a fixed mold 18. A large quantity of the timbers 1 of the state are contained at once in a pressure vessel, and fixed with high-temperature and high-pressure steam in the vessel to completely fix the compression molding.
