Summary: | PURPOSE: To simply measure the activities of a physiologically active substance specifically in high sensitivity by using a peptide derivative having a certain number of amino acid residues as a substrate for the active substance which acts on peptides or proteins and fractionating the reaction products. CONSTITUTION: A peptide comprising 2-15 amino acids, represented by formula I [A is an amino acid residue or the residue of a peptide comprising a sequence of 2-13 amino acids; A is the N-terminal amino acid residue; A is the C- terminal amino acid residue; R is a fluorescent or UV-absorbing group binding to an NH group; R is OH or a carboxyl-protecting group, the formula: NH-Y-R (R is a fluorescent or UV-absorbing group ; Y is a 1-10C alkylene, phenylene)] or by formula IT is used as a substrate for a physiologically active substance and the products which is formed by the action of the active substance are fractionated and determined to simply know its activity specifically in high sensitivity. |
