Summary:PURPOSE: To efficiently fill a powder with uniform density into a green compact forming mold. CONSTITUTION: A stage to which a green compact forming mold 6 is fixed and which is movable vertically, a vibrating compression means 4 having a vibration bar 4a provided with a vibration body 1 and a vibrating compression plate 4b having the cross-section area larger than the cross-section area of this vibration bar 4a are arranged oppositely inside a compression device frame 10. The vibrating compression means 4 is inserted into the mold 6, then the powder is charged in the space surrounded with the circumference of the vibration bar 4a and the internal face of the mold 6 and whose bottom is formed of the vibrating compression plate 4b, and the powder inside the space is transferred to the bottom part through the clearance between the vibrating plate 4b and the internal face of mold 6 while the vibrating compression plate 4b is vibrated by the vibration body 1. Then, the stage 9 is moved upward, thereby the powder on the bottom part of the mold 6 is compressed and filled by the vibrating compression plate 4b. By repeating this operation, the powder can be compressed and filled efficiently and uniformly without pulling-out the vibrating compression means 4 from the mold 6.
