Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an escalator caming a wheelchair or the like, capable of securing a yet wider and safer mounting space by only adding a very simple remodeling even to the existing one, not to mention such being newly manufactured. CONSTITUTION: A side from a lot of general passenger footsteps 2, two specified footsteps 3A and 3B are installed there, and this specified footstep 3A is composed of a reference framework part 4, a footboard part 5 going up and forming a wheelchair mounting surface, and a cross linkage device 6 installed astride between these elements 4 and 5, and further an interval between the footboard part 5 of the specified footstep 3A and a footboard of the specified footstep 3B is integrally connected together. With this constitution, the footboard part 5 follows the footboard of the specified footstep 3B, and it is made shiftable in both vertical and longitudinal directions in keeping its horizontality intact.
