Summary:PURPOSE: To shorten a sterilizing time required for heat sterilization of foods, etc., and simplify sterilizing equipment and operation. CONSTITUTION: A material to be sterilized is packed into a container 1 sealed with a membrane in which many pores having size capable of passing vapor through, but incapable of passing bacteria through are formed and heat sterilization of the whole container 1 is carried out. In this case, since the material to be sterilized in the container is directly sterilized by bringing the material into contact with vapor through the membrane 2, it is not necessary to carry out excess heating in sterilization. Further, sterilizing time is also shortened.
