Summary:PURPOSE: To improve wettability, durability, contamination resistance against lipid without influencing the characteristic by subjecting a water-contg. contact lens comprised of a specified copolymer to a plasma treatment. CONSTITUTION: This water-contg. contact lens consists of a copolymer of polysiloxane macromonomers expressed by A -U -S -U -A (meth)acryl amide monomers, and silicon-contg. monomers selected from silicon-cong. alkyl(meth) acrylates and silicon-contg. styrene derivs. Then lens is treated with plasma in an oxygen gas and/or carbonic acid gas atmosphere. In the above formula, A represents Y -R -, A represents-R -Y (Y , Y are acryloxy oxy groups or the like and R , R are alkylene groups), U represents-X -E -X -R -, U is-R -X -E -X -, (X , X are covalent bonds or the like, E , E are -CONH- or the like, X , X are oxygen atoms or the like, R , R are alkylene groups). S is expressed by formula, wherein R -R are alkylene group or the like.
