Summary: | PURPOSE: To remarkably improve the service life of a battery by constituting the components of a stainless steel from specified weight % of C, Mn, Cr, Ni, Si, Mn, and the balance substantial Fe. CONSTITUTION: The componental compsn. of a stainless steel is composed of the one contg., by weight, <=0.15% C, <=2% Mn, 10 to 25% Cr, 7 to 30% Ni, 0.8 to 4% Si, and 0.1 to 3% Mo, satisfying Si+2×Mo>2%, and the balance substantial Fe with inevitable impurities to obtain this stainless steel excellent in molten carbonate corrosion resistance. Furthermore, 0.1 to 2% Cu is incorporated therein to remarkably improve the corrosion resistance of the severe part in contact with molten carbonate. |
