CONSTITUTION: An image G1 where an intermediate tone area E1 and a binary area E2 with higher resolution coexist is expressed by a set of virtual image drawing unit data DU in three bits or over in an image memory BM. m-Sets being two or over within a numerical range of the virtual drawing image unit data DU and m-sets of image patterns different from each other comprising m-sets of binary density picture elements g1 are corresponded with each other and other data in the numeral range and the density of an intermediate tone area E1 of the image G1 are corresponded.
