Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a surveying device being handled extremely easily by automatically correcting the origin of the survey of the surveying device at the time of measurement and displacement regarding horizontality. CONSTITUTION:The line of sight 102 in a finder scope 101 for the surveying device 100 and a mark 112 on a point to be surveyed are aligned, and a control switch 8 is depressed. The direction of inclination and angle of inclination (these values are called attitude information) of the surveying device 100 body are detected by an attitude detecting section mounted on the surveying device 100 at that time while distance up to the mark 112 is obtained by a distance measuring section. An origin-position detecting section is installed on the surveying device 100, and the place of a survey point 110 on the origin side is detected. According to above-mentioned information, the positional relationship of the survey device 100, a virtual reference point 113 in height (h) just above the survey point 110 and the mark 112 is acquired, and an angle in the vertical direction and an azimuth in the horizontal direction on the mark 112 at the reference point 113 are obtained.
