Summary:PURPOSE: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance, thermal stability during molding, dimensional stability, and rigidity by compounding nylon-4,6 with a specific polybromostyrene in a given proportion. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises 60-97wt.% nylon-4,6 (A) and 3-40wt.% polybromostyrene (B) which is obtained by polymerizing at least one bromostyrene monomer, has a number-average mol.wt. of 1×10 -9×10 and a weight-average mol.wt. to number-average mol.wt. ratio of 5 or lower, and preferably has a dibromostyrene unit content of 50wt.% or higher and a bromine content of 40-70wt.%. 1-200 pts.wt. fibrous or whiskery filler (e.g. glass fibers) is preferably added to 100 pts.wt. the sum of the components (A) and (B).
